FELICE Cavity alignment
[edit | edit source]Molecular beam
[edit | edit source]Ingredients
[edit | edit source]- 5mW HeNe laser
Procedure
[edit | edit source]- Insert the beam splitter.
- Using screens 7S21 and 7S41, check that the incoming beam is well aligned on the respective holes. (adjustment can only be done by entering the vault).
- Remove screen 7S41.
- If necessary (normally not the case), adjust downstream mirror to put the reflected beam on the hole of 7S21.
- Remove screen 7S21.
- Insert screen 7S50 .
- Purposely misalign end mirror; remember/write down original position.
- Align spot on screen using upstream mirror.
- Re-position End Mirror, and align the back reflection onto the screen.
- Remove 7S50 and insert screen 7S60.
- Align spot on screen using Angle Mirror .
- Remove 7S60 and insert screen 7S41.
- Fine adjust End Mirror to overlay reflected spot on hole. (P.S. instead of step 12 and 13 one can also do the following: Overlay the large, rather vague spot that should also be visible on 7S60 with the hole using the End Mirror steering)
- Retract screens & HeNe; Start gun.
- Find cavity zero; enter this position in CL detune Felice, and set it to a reasonable detuning (e.g. 1.5).
- Enable Remote access and detune ON.
FTICR
[edit | edit source]- use downstream to align on 7S70
- use angle to align on 7S80
- use end mirror to align on 7S21
- use upstream to align on 7S41
