Exhaust

Then neutrons that are generated when the accelerators operate at high energies can react with the argon in the air to form 41Ar. The exhaust of 41Ar is monitored. Below is a graph from Grafana that is updated daily with the exhaust per day and also the cumulative total this year.

Health risks of radiation[1]

The background radiation in the Netherlands is on the order of 2 mSv/yr which is about 0.2 µSv/hr.

For comparison: a dental x-ray gives a dose of about 5 µSv.
