Dynamic Cavity Desynchronization (DCD)
DCD with the AWG (no additional boxes required)

  1. Select ACPS 80 output 8 = "general purpose"
  2. Connect ACPS 80 with M22 on patch panel
  3. Use Timer AWG unit 2, AWG channel 1 (file: 'linear ramp positive.txt') to adjust the delay and amplitude
-what worked @16 µm was:
delay setting between 20 and 50
amplitude setting between 60% and 80% (Δλ scales linearly with amplitude)
cavity-length set between 0.9 and 1.1 λ detuning

After the machine has been properly set up, play with the delay, amplitude and cavity length for best results, meaning the widest possible spectrum without bumps at the highest possible power.

Example: 9 mJ @16 µm FEL-2 with a 2.1mm outcoupling hole
