In 25 MHz mode operation, the micropulse repetition rate of FELIX is decreased from 1 GHz to 25 MHz. The result is that there is exactly one optical pulse going back and forth in the optical cavity (compared to 40 pulses in the cavity at 1 GHz).

Switching to/from 25 MHz

This section probably deserves its own page (to be done)

Point not mentioned in the "Operator instructions manual":

  • Change the gun/buncher phase until output is flat until the end of the pulse.
    • In program Timer/AWG, unit 1, amplitude settings.
    • Typical value of 35% for 25 MHz, 21% for 1 GHz.
