What is the sweep?
[edit | edit source]The sweep is the procedure that is required to ensure there is nobody locked inside the vault or other radiation areas during the operation of the FELs.
This procedure consist of the operator going though the steps needed to check each protected area before he or she is able to turn on the FEL. All steps have to happen in a certain order and within a certain amount of time.
Sweep failure
[edit | edit source]If you sweep in the wrong order or have a timeout in a step the sweep is completely failed and has to be restarted from the controlroom by turning the masterkey from the sweep to off state and back to sweep.
