FELIX is the oldest free-electron laser at FELIX Laboratory. Beamlines are FEL1 and FEL2. The accelerator is shared with FELICE.

- In order to switch lines, the following conditions must be met:
- -Gun RF-Timing Felix or Felice is off
- -Magnet swing is off
- Spectrometer magnet (Beamoptics, L0, 0B1)
- -2B20-25, 2B30 are off. (Beamoptics, L2)
- -1B30 is off. (Beamoptics, L1)
- Normally you only have to turn off the power in the line that is active.
- The spectrometer is an exception to this, if you switch this line on, the dump power supply 2B30 will automatically turn on. You can turn this off in Beam Optics L2.
- You can see if you can switch because the LED Switching Lines Disabled is dark green, if not it is orange and you cannot switch.
- Now you can switch to the desired dump. You do not have to press the Reset Dumps first.
Degause procedure Spectrometer magnet.
- Select Dump Spectrometer. LED Normal lights up.
- Magnet OB10 at 40 A (In Beamoptics L0)
- Magnet 0B10 on 0 A.
- Change Polarity in the Line Selection. LED Chanced fire.
- Magnet OB10 at 8 A.
- Magnet 0B10 on 0 A.
- After this you can select the desired line
